In this game, the participants debate some unpleasant and/or disappointing ways that their children could turn out. The idea is that you’d pit one unsavory scenario against another:

Possibilities Include:

  • Trustafarian or Aspiring Actor
  • Goth or Wigger/Chav
  • Republican or Compulsive Gambler
  • Religious Fanatic or Radical Environmentalist
  • Morbidly Obese or Sexually Promiscuous
  • Freemason or Minor League Baseball Player
  • Bad Cop or Bad Artist
  • Underemployed Professional Musician or Peace Corps Volunteer
  • Pro-Life Activist or Marxist
  • Militant Feminist or Alcoholic

The goal is to pick two seemingly unconnected things and rhetorically present them as diametrically opposed to one another.

As a variation, you can pose the question in terms of undesirable traits in a potential son or daughter-in-law. For example: “Would you rather see your son be a freemason, or see your daughter marry a minor league baseball player?”
