In this game, the participants debate some unpleasant and/or disappointing ways that their children could turn out. The idea is that you’d pit one unsavory scenario against another:
Possibilities Include:
- Trustafarian or Aspiring Actor
- Goth or Wigger/Chav
- Republican or Compulsive Gambler
- Religious Fanatic or Radical Environmentalist
- Morbidly Obese or Sexually Promiscuous
- Freemason or Minor League Baseball Player
- Bad Cop or Bad Artist
- Underemployed Professional Musician or Peace Corps Volunteer
- Pro-Life Activist or Marxist
- Militant Feminist or Alcoholic
The goal is to pick two seemingly unconnected things and rhetorically present them as diametrically opposed to one another.
As a variation, you can pose the question in terms of undesirable traits in a potential son or daughter-in-law. For example: “Would you rather see your son be a freemason, or see your daughter marry a minor league baseball player?”
